FAQ

How many treatments will you need? The answer is different for everybody. For an acute injury or internal condition daily treatments will bring about the quickest results. A chronic pain or disease is further embedded in the body and thus, depending on the level of discomfort will require treatments 1 to 2 times a week for 6 to 8 treatments. Further treatments may be needed for maintenance and pain management. More severe internal conditions will require added frequent treatments

Are the needles reused? Acupuncture needles in the United States should never be re-used. Here at The Gathering Point Community Acupuncture we follow clean needle technique and use sterile, disposable, stainless steel needles for your safety. These needles are disposed of after single use into biohazard containers. Our patient’s health and safety is our priority.

Do the needles hurt? You may feel a pin prick as the needles go in or you may not feel anything. Often times people feel a dull achy sensation, itching or a tickle while they are resting. These are all good sensations to feel, as it is just the qi (energy) moving throughout the body to help you heal. If you don’t feel anything that is ok too. Everybody is different.
