Year of the Rat

The Chinese New Year is the most important holiday in China. In 2020, the Chinese New Year begins on January 25th. Unlike most nations who celebrate the New Year on the same day every year, the Chinese New Year is based upon the lunar cycle, which changes every year. Although China adopted the Western calendar in 1912, cultural traditions are still in practice to celebrate Chinese heritage.
