Monkey Madness
It’s the Chinese New Year and 2016 is the year of the monkey. Monkeys are considered to be intelligent, amusing, and resourceful. They are problem solvers. Although monkeys work well is group settings, they are also independent and strive to meet goals.
The Chinese New Year is a time to reflect upon the Lunar Year and to honor deities and ancestors, as well as a time to for families to gather to start a favorable new year. Families celebrate together by eating lucky foods, exchanging gifts wrapped in red, and adorning their homes with red decorations.
Red is a symbol associated with prosperity, good luck, and joy. Homes are thoroughly cleaned to eliminate negative energy and invite positive energy into the home.
